John, I hate to tell you this, but you are doing it about the best way you can. You might try some faster acting remover like Citristrip on the residue, but that's about all I can suggest. Even after the Peel Away has worked on the paint, figure on leaving the Citristrip to work for an hour or so before you try to get off the residue. And don't forget the gloves and goggles when you are working around either of these.
