Paint off brick

Posted by K Teets on July 14th, 2000 09:18 PM

I have a brick ranch style house that was built around 1960. I am in the
process of doing some remoldling and I would like to remove the exterior
paint on the bricks. The entire brick exterior of the house is painted white.
I would like to end up with an Old Williamsburg look on the brick, leave a
small amount of white but not too much and let the red brick show through.

I pressured washed the brick and the first layer came off easy. The next
coat which is the last one is not so easy. Some of it came off, but there is
still too much for the look I want. I am thinking about using a chemical
stripper, but I am not sure how it would look afterwards. Can you give me
some hints on the best methods to use.
