I agreer that 95% of all failers are in the prep.
The house was built in 1967, with local species of
wood use. The yellow pine when I painted it 2 years ago
the paint was peeling, but was worse in the grin areas.
The siding is 8" cedar lap siding and was in fairly good condition.
This is why I had asked if "Bin" or another alcohol base would seal the grain.
We use shellac to seal knots on the interior work. I realize the freez
and facia is exposed to more weather.I am using Duron paints which I have been using for the last 20 years.
