Paint Contractor coming tomorrow, advice please

I'm getting an estimate to have the exterior of my home repainted. It is all brick (I know you all HATE that) but now I'm stuck. I'm not sure when it was first painted (25yrs old), but the paint in some places seems very thick and in others you can see the brick showing through. Along the bottom ~2' there is mold in spots that has completely eaten though the paint. Where I have removed it the brick is now bare. I understand that it is not practical and hard on the brick/mortar to remove the paint. So, I guess I need to repaint.

Please advise on what I should look for in a bid/contractor. Type/brand of paint, # of coats, How should brick be prepped, how applied, warranty/guarantee, and any other hows, whats, wheres, whos, and whys you can think of.

Thanks, JC

p.s. Don't know if it matters but, brick is now white, want to change to light to med taupe or beige or sage. Let me know if you need more info.
