I prefer sherwin williams. They have a store close by and good paint. The long time painters around here are split between sw and porter paints. I don't know who makes porter. Besides the prep work being most of the job, as far as I'm concerned, if something is worth painting then use a coat of primer and two coats of paint to get the life recommended by the paint manufacturers at least on exterior. Other than that, I HATE PAINTING!!!!!!!!!
For interior walls, get a good quality paint of the gloss that you want and I'm not sure I could say anything bad about the brands you mentioned. Usually the cheaper the paint and lower the rated life, the lesser amount of pigment will be in it. You may end up with a rougher surface trying to put a bunch of paint on in one coat.
