Packing Nuts

Try tightening the packing nuts on the stems. Remove the indicator buttons; remove the screws; remove the handles (you may need a faucet handle puller to prevent breaking the knurled end of the stem) Remove the escutcheons. Tighten the packing nuts, using an adjustable wrench. Don't use pliers or channel locks or you will damage the brass nut. Turn the faucets on, and check for leaks. If the stem is real tight or you hear a loud squeeking noise, then you will have to shut off the water supply, remove the stems and luibricate the stems with a waterproof plumber's grease. If you have to go this route, then inspect the washers and seats for wear, while everything is apart. Good luck!
