I want to install a microwave oven where currently there is a range hood. The hood is hard wired in. I looked at some installation guides for these ovens on the net. They all state that an outlet must be installed in the upper cabinet. I would like to hardwire the microwave same as the range hood I am taking out. The sales people tell me to just cut the cord. Is this a good idea and will it void the waranty?
