I'm back. What is throwing me now is the single receptacle next to the duplex receptacle. Do they share the same box? Do the receptacles have the same sized slots an on the same angles? I'm just wondering if someone hooked up some 110 receptacles off of a 220 air conditioner receptacle. Look at the main panel. Were the two breakers you closed 2 separate (single pole) breakers or one double pole breaker with a single bar? Do the breakers have a red wire into one and a black wire into the other? Do they both go up into the same outer sheath(sheathed electrical cable) as the leave the panel? Do the red, black, and white wires all enter the box with the receptacles in the same outer sheath along with a bare ground wire? Do any other wires enter or leave the box? Where or what room is this box in?
