Outer paper layer on drywall removed with wallpaper.

Posted by Anne on March 26th, 2001 10:06 PM

We started removing the out of date wallpaper on our 1981 home and in numerous places tore small and larger pieces of the outer paper coating off the drywall. One of these is about a foot in diameter. The others are relatively small, but numerous. Our intention was to prime and paint the walls after removing the paper, but now it looks like we'll have a huge spackling job. Is there a better solution? We were thinking of having texturing done to match the rest of the walls....
