I think that things are going far afield. As I understand the question, it is "What do I use to support a barbeque grill?" If this is the question, then you have two choices. The first is brick itself. The second is structural tubing or a variation like BEG mentioned with the oilwell tubing. Troy, I think you have to take a couple of steps back and get a book on outdoor grill design. The library or your home center should have several of them. Or if I am not understanding what you want to do, could you explain it again so we are sure of the question.
