I've had both types of ceilings in my prior two houses. When it came time to do the new house, I went with a suspended ceiling without hesitation. If you go with 2x2 three-dimensional tiles, the look is quite nice. Losing access to the "systems" with a drywall ceiling was a major hassle in a prior house. Ended up with three patches in around 7 years. You lose roughly 2-and-a-half (or 3) inches with a suspended ceiling. One man's opinion - good luck.
