Unfortunately is not a lot of water if you have a lot of moisture in your basement. You may have to remove that much twice a day to get the humidity levels down.
The calking should be around the perimiter of the house where the sill plate meets the cinder block. Try to minimize any warm air getting into the basement. If you have central air, be sure a return is pulling some of the air from the basement to help the dehumidifier.
