old milk chute

I have one of those quaint, old metal two-way milk chutes within the brick right next to a "side" door which happens to be *right* in the front of the house.
My problem is that this chute is SO rusted and corroded (I've stripped it before), that even the hinges are gone and the one vertical half-door is hanging by a whim. I can't afford to call a brick mason to take it out and rebrick that area, and obviously painting isn't an option because of the degraded metal. Plus, all the caulking around it is kaput, too.
Help! Any suggestions? I can't even find a company on the web to BUY one of these! If anyone who knows about this type of things can help, I will gladly e-mail a picture of this mess. It truly is an eyesore. :-(
