I have to disagree with Henry, people are paying top dollar to have floor like yours, please don't cover it. Just to add to what Henry said, wood also srinks with age and continuos movement, there are several options that you can try, first is checking the humidity in the home, if it is dryer then 40% you can add humidity for several months and see if the bards will expand. If the humidity is at a good level then you can fill the joints with a natural fiber rope stained to match the floor, I hear it looks O.K., and as a final option, go to, Jeff Hosking is the This Old House Guru for wood flooring, and a great guy, see what he thinks.
