Dear Linda,Post jacks can be placed under the floor joists if you think the bowed wall is in motion. This will provide a temporary fix,if you believe the wall is in motion.Avoid parking heavy vehicles outside, close to the bowed wall. For a permanent solution position 6inch-8inch structural I-beams sunk 2-3feet into the floor and attached to the floor joists will support the weight of the house, while at the same time, prventing further bowing.Space the I beams 2-3 feet apart across the bowed area. The base of the I-beams should be encased ingravel/concrete.Excavation from the exterior to provide damp proofing/ french drain could be tricky due to delicate condition of the wall.Effective interior waterproofing solutions are available, but you need to learn more before you determine a final game plan.Suggest you visit if you are interested in learning more.Best Wishes,Jack Masters
