I'll take your word for the fact that Durock screws won't make little leaking holes -- or hiles, as they call them in your neck of the woods :) -- in the rubber membrane.

Do you think it's a good belt-and-suspenders move to put a shower membrane underneath a manufactured shower pan and Durock wall sheathing if the plan is to ceramic tile the walls? Or is that just overkill? I'm leak obsessed because this is an historic home and shower leakage could just be ruinous to moldings and original plaster.
