Oil or Latex? to prime or not to prime? White Cabinets

Posted by Aj on April 25th, 2000 05:36 PM

i am going (nuts) to paint some kitchen cabinets. i believe they are oak. i have already cleaned and ready to paint.

i've had different suggestions on how to paint. i've been told to skip priming and just use oil and vise versa. i've been told to use oil and not latex. i've also read to use latex and not oil becuase oil yellows. YIKES!!! Help.

At this point, I plan to prime with Kilz or similar, then follow up with 1 or 2 coats of a good oil based antique WHITE paint.
