in New Jersey. Here's what happened...I had my drywall respackled recently (the ceiling) because I knew that I was going to paint. Well, I painted over the new spackle yesterday, with a satin finish paint...and it looked terrible. I know that satin isn't what is recommended for ceilings but that's not the problem...today a friend recommended that I use a primer over the newly painted ceiling...so I used Kilz oil based primer. I guess, of course, that it would have been better to prime first, but like I said I'm a novice painter. Does anyone on the board have any experience with this and can offer some help? I'm planning on repainting the ceiling in the am with the same satin paint. I'm really hoping to hear that I didn't make matters worse. If I did, can someone offer a corrective? Or does anyone need a job painting? Only kidding!!
