Just took out the pool 2 years ago because we got tired of maintenance issues just like this one for 12 years! Perhaps one of the other readers on this site will have a better experience than we did, and will come up with a brilliant plan. However...

If you are lucky, the vinyl liner leak is high enough that it will stop leaking after losing only 1/3 of the water. If the pool is still 2/3 full, the walls will hold.

If you can actually see the leak, you can try using a pool patch, but if you are in the cold weather right now, it will not hold for long (not to mention, you absolutely DO NOT want to run the risk of falling into that freezing water. Hypothermia will kill you.)

Adding water on a periodic basis is about your only hope. Sorry.
