Hey Steve, thanks for the reply on the plaster walls. I thought about another possiblity to how it was done. Water... After smoothing on the plaster, I venture that they took a wet plaster brush and, like rinsing out the brush outside or in a sink, splattered the wall with the water creating moon-like craters as big as the droplets from the brush. I thought about this on the way to the Depot as I was driving. Moon craters were created by a force hitting the soft surface of the moon; why not the same concept. When they built the house and did the walls they made a mess obviously. To re-create that texture, i'd have to do the same thing with water which is not worth it for the amount of cracks that need to be repaired and how big they are.
