clean the surface, then float on your mastic then tile, but since you have a crack, that crack will contract and expand with the seasons.

Therefore, ceramic will not contract or expand and you will have a crack sooner or later in that area.

If you want to monitor the crack for a full set of seasons and measure it with a micrometer, then you can experiment.

But, I would float it out and apply a nice vino.
