Way back a long time ago when I was on a U.S. destroyer we had a metal deck that often got wet and was in various states of horizonalness. We outlined a walkway in tape and put a coat of paint down with a roller. While the paint was still wet sprinkled sand-blasting sand on the paint. When it dried we carefully swept up the sand that didn't stick and repeated the process. Then we put one or two final coats of paint on that. I think we used sand-blasting sand because it was large grain. This may not be practical for your drive but maybe on your steps.
