One month ago I had a brand new Rheem Criterion II gas furnace installed, as my old one was about 30 years old. Unfortunately, it's very noisy, much, much noisier than the old, inefficient furnace. In addition, it causes a lot of vibraring noise, whirring, which wakes me up, as not only do I hear it, but also can 'feel' it. The installer is going to come and take a look at it... but I wonder, is there realisticially anything that can be done short of installing a different, quieter furnace? Is is possible to, say, return the furnace? I'm afraid that unless I reduce the noise and vibrations, it will be very difficult to cope with it in the winter. I'd appreciate any comments/advice you may offer. Thanks!
