you can find cedar siding about anywhere and you can patch the areas that are in question.
Sherwin William's sells a product called "Woodscapes", its just for this surface. Its a paint/stain. Now, you do have to apply this with a sprayer. Its very hard and time consuming to paint/stain cedar siding.
Then, don't let anyone tell you that power washing is OK for this siding, because it is NOT.
It needs to be scraped by hand and either a stiff wire brush or a down scraper.
Other than that, this siding is good, takes more maintenance than reg siding, but it does look good when maintained.
