you want to be the same sheen. You want the colore to be different enough so people will not think that you ran out of paint and tried to match the wall with a different color. It should be in the same shade family, but I would think darker if the base color is light. this way it could be your focal wall. A very good idea and will turn out good if you accent and accessorize it to show off that wall.
