Any time I have an excuse to break out the pneumatic nailer, I do it. In this case, bigger is better...well, at least it is cooler. You can obviously do this either way. It should nail just like wood, but it never hurts to calibrate the air pressure on a piece of scrap. Once you have the air pressure correct, the nail head should just break the surface of the siding.
