make sure your addition is deep enough, make sure you drill your holes far enough into the old slab to tie the rebar into to reinforce the new slab. Make sure you do all the required ground conditioning and back filling to have a stable foundation.

make sure your mixing of concrete is proper and according to spec.

One year down the road after completion IF your addition flakes off, erodes away, breaks from old and causes you more problems, you will regret ever doing this.
