Hi, Sue!

You can make an effective nicotine glaze by using yellow ochre and maybe a bit of burnt or raw umber in your glazing medium. We've just done the ceiling of our den this way, and it looks fabulous! We used one part of a golden latex paint (Benjamin Moore's Wheatfield, I think) and two parts glazing medium, and then added some yellow ochre. We added some areas on the ceiling that were deeper ochre and you could also overglaze it with an thinnish umber glaze to age it even further.

Hope this helps!
