Ron, I know it's been since '99 since this has been posted, but I thought I would try to see if I got a response...

We planted a Northwest mix grass seed the end of spring this year. It was growing in great, like yours for about 2 months or so and then around the edges the tips of the blades of grass split in two, started to dry out and then turned brown and died. And now it's spreading to the middle of the grass. We have been watering in the evening, but that's only been since the grass looked pretty established. In the beginning we watered constantly during the day. We're at a loss here and were hoping that maybe you had found an answer to your grass problem, and see if you could help us with ours. One of the replies to your message was about neutralizing and then feeding the grass. Did you do that, did it work? If so, what type up neutralizing product did you use? Thank you. Kim
