New bathroom tile is higher than toilet flange. What to do?

Posted by Steve the Beginner on May 30th, 2002 11:27 PM

I recently installed marble tile in a bathroom. Not only am I having second thoughts about putting the toilet on the marble (after seeing how fragile it can be) but, more importantly, my toilet flange now sets about 1/8" below the level of the marble.

Can I put the toilet on the flange like this? Do I need an extension? Is there an easy solution?? Or is this not even an issue?

I bought an extra size wax ring but don't know if this will help. I figured it couldn't hurt.

Thanks
