this might not the right place for this but you never know. I'm not looking to do it myself, but
there must be someone with a similar problem.
I live on a street that is much busier than I thought-like an expressway almost. Exterior wall
on the street side is about 6" thick, doesn't seem
to be insulated very well (at least for sound) and
there is a large 3 panel patio in the living room
on ground level and 2 windows upstairs. My question is do I need to build out the wall w/ some air space and insulation as well as do something about the windows/door or will just adding a second window be enough? I have resorted to cranking up the tv/radio and turning a fan on
to try to drown out the noise, works sometimes.
I live in the NW suburbs of Chicago.
