This past spring I put in a new back door to our house. The door was of non-standerd size so I purchased a solid core, exteroir wood door made of oak. I had to rebuild the door frame, put in a new jamb and cut the door to size. I must say, I really surprised myself. This door turned out perfect. It closes so smooth that one could use just one finger to open and close it. Hence the problem, I have two young kids ages 6 and 4 (plus a wife) that insist on slamming the door with all their might. You know kids, they always seem to forget whatever you tell them. The door lock assembly is allready begin to show some damage from the constant slamming and I am affraid the door may become damaged over time. Is there a product out there that would prevent a door from being slammed? I do not want to put one of those big, commercail grade door closers on the door, I am hoping there is a residentail version somewhere. Thanx.
