Hi. I will be painting a mural,...(a small one,..60" in diameter) on my dining room ceiling. I am a graphic designer and have a strong background in fine art, being that I went to school initially for fine art / Illustraion, so the idea of creating a well-done mural shouldn't be a hard task for me. However, what I really, really need to know, is what would be my best options to prepare the ceiling for this endevour? (as you might have guessed, I've never actually done a mural before!)
I want to clean up the ceing and the few cracks it has, so I was wondering if I should basically just do a really good patch job, or redo the plaster ceiling alltogether. If so, would it be best to just completely redo the ceiling by going over the existing ceiling, or something else??
