Is that you could install the wood flooring over the lino as long as it isn't the cushioned type of lino. HOWEVER, I would put down red rosin paper between the lino and the oak, to minimize the possibility of squeeks from the lino. If you peel up the lino, and the paper and glue are left behind, I would still put down the rosin paper.
