It's ealy 1800's build, ballon framed, and huge beams sit on the foundation. Some of the stone foundation has moved but it seems to be ok. Floor joists for the first floor are 14" round beams, second floor joists are 3"X8" oak. Most of the studs in the exterior are 5"X6" oak beams. Gotta weigh two or three times as much as a newer home. Take a strong wind to move it! We sit on one of the highest elevations in the area and get some severe winds, and who knows how many tornados in the last 150 years. I'd like to put a full basement with new walls under it, but that might be a chore.
