Recently a new boiler was installed in my capecod home in the Adirondacks in NY. When it gets mighty cold (which it is right now) I like to use my coal stove. However, the first time I tried using it after my new oil furnace was installed, water spewed out of a brass plug that sticks out over the top of the burning coal, putting out the fire. This has never happend before. I don't know (and the installers of the furnace said - we don't know anything about coal stoves) if the brass plug just needs to be replaced or if perhaps a bigger problem exists with pressure, etc. Can you direct me to a resource or help in anyway. I appreciate it. I'm from a coal mining town (mines shut down in 1967) but no one seems to know. ???
