I can only add to what Henry has said.

Brick and morter are construction materials that breathe. By paintint them, you essentially seal them. This will cause them to crack and degrade. Geesh, I would wonder a little why you would buy a brick home, then paint it. Assuming it was a good deal, like Henry said, it will definitely affect resale. And your good deal got worst. FWIW, 6 years ago when my wife and I were home shopping, we saw a nice 40 year old home whose brick was painted white. Nice neighborhood, good school district, and all that. But they painted the brick. We were looking for a good deal like everyone but not one I couldn't change.
