Moving HVAC units outside

Posted by Jerry Phillips on March 26th, 2000 11:23 AM

I have two HVAC units that I would like to move to the other side of my house. Currently both units have the copper freon lines running the length of my house in the basement ceiling. I am worried about condensation on this lines forming in the future. I am in the process of finishing off the basement and have room to move the outside units to the other side of the house to reduce the distance of the copper lines. I am handy and fell comfortable in tackling the project but the loss of freon is my main concern and how to prevent this is my major stumbling block. Any advise other than hire a contractor.
