First, I will have to admitt, ceramic really looks good and does do a kitchen Justice, BUT.

Ceramic is cold, anything hitting ceramic breaks, the grout is a very hard area to clean and will no matter what you do will turn dark.

Chairs and other furniture seem not to glide effeciently or too much with ceramic and the grout area works like a file to the chair leg bottoms.

Ceramic tile does chip and crack. And when that happens as you accidently drop a pot or pan lid, let me tell you, its very hard to replace.

I always recommend vinyl in the kitchen areas. I also go a step further and always recommend squares. Squares again can be replaced so easy.

Take your time and ponder on the decision.
