Hi Sandy,

Dodgeman has pretty much hit it right on the head. For more info that might apply to your situation, see What To Do If Your Home Gets Flooded. On about the 2nd or 3rd page is a section titled, Floor Coverings. You MAY need to get your carpeting professionally cleaned if the carpeting has 'absorbed' contaminents. You MAY need to let your sub-floor dry out for a while IF it's wood. You MAY not want to use any bleach if the carpet has wool in it. And there's more on the WEB page.

There is TONS of this info on the WEB. I just happen to pick one of the first 'hits' I got. And as Dodgeman says, consider a backup battery.

My best to ya and hope this helps.
