Hi Mary,

Other than what I've described, you're pretty much relegated to that or the method you're using.

Now, depending on what you're putting down next, you may need to install an underlayment. The underlayment may be a material like plywood, luaun, OSB, or the like. If you need further assistance, e-mail me directly because your Post is getting 'buried' now.
