you would feel very much at home in my shop. The DeWalt DW421 Orbital? I didn't note anyone raving about Makita. Personally, I feel their stuff is okay but for the money, you can do better. Consumer Reports rated the Ryobi 18volt a Best Buy for cordless drills and for less than a hundred, I guess that is a decent buy, but when you've driven the best, it's hard to drop down to the housewife-duty stuff. I do have a Makita miter saw that's light and good for small jobs, but you can't beat the DeWalt 12". Haven't convinced myself to buy the sliding model yet, but there's a display model down at HD for 15 % off....drool..What's your choice of saw blades? Luck, Kizmet
