moisture and humidity

Posted by still lost on February 3rd, 2001 06:58 PM

I have insulation that was blown in around 1969. I added R-19 unfaced insulation on top of that about 2 years ago to get the thickness of 12 inches deep. The question that i have is i notice that some of the insulation up in the attic has condensation on it. I looked all around under my roof for leaks but did not see any. Could this be caused by the coaxal ceiling heat that this house has? I can move the insulation away and the ceiling is very warm. Could there be not enough insulation up in the attic for this kind of electric heat? Yes i have around 12 inches of insulation up in the attic. I appreciate any suggestions.
