The exposed earth beneath your home is constantly emitting moisture. Plastic is only a temporary solution - and makes a great breeding environment for snakes, vermin, rodents etc. There is a service available that provides a more complete solution called neutocrete. They have a lightweight concrete material that is water resistant and has an insulating factor. If you have rising water in your crawlspace, they will also install the neccessary drainage system with sump pump before sealing the dirt with their product. Their website is
