We had a very wet season here in the Northeast. I'm not sure where you are located but it could be coincidental.

We seldom experience this problem but if there is a high water table you could get water in your basement. Drilling a concrete floor will not start a moisture problem. Water that is coming from surface or ground water will find its way in even if the slab was never drilled .I have a full basement and we have a high water table. I have never drilled the floor for termites, but I do get water from the smallest crack.
I woudl recommend Thoroseal. It works great.
