Hey everyone, I found a manual for this softener. This kind of softener is in my house and didn't work for years. It didn't even use up salt. Finally I got all the old salt out and found what is apparently called a salt cap -- the salt had solidified over the brine. Broke that up with a wooden pole and then everything worked great -- so great, I guess, that it stressed out the old motor. So now the motor doesn't work (or at least not very well) and I went digging through the previous owner's manuals that he left and found the right one. I am going to read it tonight and maybe can fix the thing.

The warranty registration card says to send it to Water Control Corp., 8811 E. Research Road, Minneapolis, Minnesota 55428. I don't even know if such a place still exists but will try to find out.
