Hi Jerry, I just attempted to do my first mitre cuts,,lol. I cheated and took the quarter round off my floor and used it as a guide to cut my crown, it was small trim so I just cut everything at a 45 degree angle in my mitre box and used my quarter round already cut to make sure my wood was facing the right way for the inside and outside cuts. If it was not a perfect fit I coped it with a box cutter. once it was up a little caulking for fill, and some paint and it looks great,,almost professional almost,,lol. I am very happy with it and not so intimidated to tackle the Formal Living room now :)) Good Luck.
