Hi, Juliana. There are some chemicals that will remove the silver but I really think that the cheapest and easiest way is to get new glass. If all you want is single strength glass, any hardware store or home center should be able to measure and cut it for you pretty easily and cheaply. I much prefer the non-glare glass for most things and there are many local glass shops that will measure and cut this and, again, the cost is not out of line. And it's no big deal to measure. Just take the frames with you and let them do it. I had some special ovals cut and it was real reasonable.
