Things can be done cheap or the right way. Our family has built for over 65 years and it will cost you one way or another. Anchoring and sound foundation will be the two most important parts of your garage. If you plan on 2x? treated base then make sure you anchor it well and make the foundation secure. Pour a 12"x24"x8"deep concrete foundation per each pillar at least every 8 ft. Then lay your concrete blocks on top. Then pour the blocks with concrete and set a 6" L anchor bolt in each block (while cement is wet). Leave threads about 2-1/2" above concrete. This way drill a hole in the base 2x4(6) at each pillar. A good book at Home Depot/Lowes will help tremendously. Do your homework first and reduce mistakes. Good-Luck
