Metal Framing & electrical wiring?

Posted by Matt on February 2nd, 1999 07:37 PM

I mentioned to a friend that I was framing my basement with light gauge steel framing and he said he thought I might not be able to use sheathed electrical cable for the electrical. His reasoning was that the edges on the cutouts in the studs could possibly cut through the sheathed electrical cable over time. He thought that there was some kind of rubber grommet I might be able to but over the cutouts that would still let me use sheathed electrical cable, otherwise I might have to use BX wiring. Does anyone have any input on this?
I appreciate any suggestions
